Roeland VAN DE GEER

Roeland van de Geer is active in a wide range of think tanks and universities in Africa and Europe in the fields of governance, peace building and international relations. He served in the Dutch merchant marine, is a keen offshore sailor and a former staff member of the Free University in Amsterdam and the National University of Lesotho. He is a former Dutch Ambassador to Mozambique and to Afghanistan and a former Africa Director and Western Hemisphere Director in the Dutch Foreign Ministry. For the European Union he served as Ambassador to South Africa, as Ambassador to the East African Community and Tanzania and as Special Representative for the African Great Lakes Region.
