Trieste (italy)
Indo-Mediterranean businesses hold the key to the success of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the eminent EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The same businesses also stand to substantially boost the scope and scale of Italy’s Mattei Plan to buoy African economies in meeting the economic aspirations of its residents. Consequently, it is critical to prepare a platform for the present and future businesses engaging in the Indo-Mediterranean region to collaborate and catalyze the future growth of this historically consequential economic thoroughfare.
The Free Port of Trieste at the head of the Adriatic Sea offers the fitting venue to host the inaugural
Indo-Mediterranean Business Forum
4-5 December 2025
Trieste (Italy)
Event Outline
Trieste and the Upper Adriatic
Trieste and Upper Adriatic have been the historic marine gateway for central Europe through the Roman, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian rule. Upper Adriatic is where the historic Amber Road from the Baltics south and the Golden Road from India merged. The Iron Curtain from Stettin to Trieste temporarily curtailed the central and eastern European countries access to sea. More than three decades hence the economic dynamism of these nations buoyed by the European Union project is primed to reenergize economic access to maritime trade through Trieste.
The Indo-Mediterranean Business Forum
The Trieste Indo-Mediterranean Business Forum will bring together transport logistics companies plus the beneficiary and future industries engaged and interested in the growth of commerce between Indian Ocean and Mediterranean Sea economies. The Forum will bring together these businesses from three important geographic regions including i) Central and Eastern Europe plus the Balkans; ii) East Mediterranean including Turkey, Israel, Egypt, and Greece; and iii) India and Gulf Nations.
Italian and European Political and Industry Leaders will offer welcome address to start the regional business gathering. The two-day forum will involve structured discussions and networking opportunities to both explore new business opportunities and identify critical transport barriers needing urgent attention.
